Margie Swift, a former Paradise Cove resident, died Dec. 10. at her home in Laguna Hills, Calif.

Swift was born in 1916. She moved with her family from St. Paul, Minn., to California in 1951. Swift lived in a number of Southern California cities, including Long Beach, Glendale, Northridge, Malibu and Laguna Hills.

Swift and her husband Jim, who preceded her in death, were married for 67 years. They traveled extensively, creating many lasting friendships along the way. She is remembered for her generosity, empathy and devotion to family. Swift, known as “Meme” to her grandchildren and friends, also enjoyed music, dance, the harp, riding rollercoasters and “all things British.”

Swift is survived by her three children, Susan Kelly of McLean, Va., Lynda Means of Wasilla, Alaska and Christopher Swift of Laguna Beach, as well as her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
