There is a Malibu Urgent Care Center in our town that many of you use. I know you believe it will be there forever, whenever you need it, but that’s wrong. How many of you have lived in Malibu long enough to remember other urgent care centers that opened and closed because it was unaffordable to stay open?
In 2001, a group of residents started a nonprofit organization called Friends of Malibu Urgent Care because the current clinic was about to close. Without Friends, there would be no Malibu Urgent Care Center or ER doctors to take care of your medical needs. The belief that it will always be there can only happen if we work to keep it open. For your peace of mind and your family’s peace of mind, please appreciate the value of not having to drive through road closures or traffic to get medical help when you need it.
