The Story Pirates performed for students at Juan Cabrillo Elementary School during two assemblies on Dec. 5. The story-telling troupe promotes literacy and creativity by acting out student-written stories.
The performance followed an assembly for students that covered subjects like vocabulary development, story structure, revision and self-expression. Students later had a chance to write stories that will eventually be performed by the Story Pirates.Â
The event was made possible by contributions from the PTA and a student’s family.Â
