Twelve more cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed in Malibu and the surrounding Santa Monica Mountains area.
There is no doubt … the fourth wave of the disease is taking hold.
Countywide … people who have been vaccinated make up about 25 percent of th enew cases.
Vaccinated people do not get as sick as unvaccinated persons.
But some of them do die … more than 30 vaccinate dpersons in L A County have died from coronavirus…. According to county figures.
Outbreaks at chruches … offices … workplacers and food stores continue to blossom.
Public Health is currently investigating 140 ongoing outbreaks in L A County … that’s a 5-fold increase since July 12.
We’re still much better off than last winter … but the new trend is not good.
While the increase in outbreak investigations is concerning, Public Health notes the n
Public Health inspectors visited more than a thosuand businesses to ensure they are following safety protocols and masking guidelines.
More than a quarter of them failed their inspections.
The most common violation is face masks not provided by employers and employees not wearing a face mask.
Another common violation is businesses not posting signage instructing customers to wear a face mask.
But three quarters of the establishments passed their inspections.
