Not many places in the world have such beautiful luxury properties as Malibu. Silva Hameline, broker and owner of RE/MAX Elite, has made it her business to help find people the perfect property, whether it is residential or commercial.
“Naturally, Malibu is my favorite place to practice real estate,” said Hameline, who lives here in town.
Hameline’s agency is truly a family affair, with her daughter Christine involved in every aspect of running the company.
“My daughter is my partner, office manager and my best friend,” Silva said. “She graduated from USC and joined the family business wholeheartedly.”
One thing the mother and daughter both share is a commitment to giving back. Silva is the chairman of the RE/MAX Council for Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles, and leads RE/MAX Elite in charitable events that support the Children’s Miracle Network and the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Christine served as president of the UNICEF student organization and founded several volunteer organizations while at USC, and she continues to volunteer with Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles. Both Silva and Christine have served or are currently serving with the Malibu Chamber of Commerce.
“We donate a portion of every sale at RE/MAX Elite in Malibu to benefit the well-being of Malibu families,” said Hameline, who added that last year that total reached more than $125,000. “This is the type of commitment to giving that I value the most in my team.”
But they could not reach such totals if they were not good at what they do.
Silva founded RE/MAX Elite in Glendale in 1997 as an affiliate of RE/MAX, a global network with a presence in more than 85 countries over a period of more than 40 years. In July 2010, she launched a new branch in Malibu.
“When we introduced our showroom office in Carbon Beach, we had a warm welcome from the City of Malibu and enjoyed the company of over 200 guests that showed tremendous support,” Hameline said.
A luxury home marketing specialist, Silva in 2008 received the coveted ‘Realtor of the Year’ Award from the Glendale Association of Realtors.
RE/MAX Commerc i a l Practitioners close billions of dollars in transactions annually, making them some of the most responsive and results-oriented agents in commercial real estate.
RE/MAX Commercial has an alliance with GreenPoint Partners (a consulting company helping businesses and building owners make smart energy decisions) and their Commercial Professionals offer specialized services to their clients to help save energy and other resources, reduce operating expenses and command higher rents.
The RE/MAX Commercial Green program offers services such as energy audits, energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, and LEED and Energy Star certification.
“Ultimately, I am a hands-on practicing broker working closely with my associates to help them navigate through any and all challenges their clients may face,” Hameline said. “I believe that it takes true passion to run a successful real estate practice. I love being present at my office and interacting with my staff, my associates, and our buyers and our sellers.”
In addition to local properties, Hameline holds an international designation for real estate through the International Real Estate Specialist Certification (I.R.E.S.), joining an elite group of luxury and international real estate experts who work together to provide access to some of the world’s most unique properties.
“As far as the international community, the network is still buzzing with the news that RE/MAX has expanded into China, Hong Kong and Macau,” Hameline said. “RE/ MAX agents understand the power of this type of continued growth in our international network for our buyers and sellers.”
RE/MAX Elite Malibu is located at 22917 Pacific Coast Hwy, Suite 210. Hameline may be reached at 310.456.4519.
