Public art project

More than 100 lifeguard towers from Zuma Beach to Manhattan Beach have been given a new “Summer of Color” look, thanks in part to Webster Elementary School students from Miss Jacqui Papale’s third and fourth grade class.

Students, less-fortunate and hospitalized children throughout Los Angeles participated in the public art project, which included painting colorful, recycled, eco-friendly fish panels that will be on display from May 1 through Sept. 30.
