Longtime Malibu resident and dermatologist Dr. Mary Lee Amerian has won the 2009 Best of L.A. TV Viewer’s Choice Award for Best Dermatologist in the Los Angeles area. Best of L.A. is a television show that highlights the best of everything in Los Angeles. Residents of Los Angeles cast their votes for the establishments that they feel are the best. Dr. Amerian came in first place in the voting for Best Dermatologist.
In addition, Los Angeles Magazine has selected Dr. Amerian as a 2010 Southern California Super Doctor. This is the second consecutive year that Dr. Amerian has achieved this distinction. Selection as a Super Doctor is made based upon the judgments of practicing physicians and other health professionals who choose the doctors they feel are the best. These professionals select the doctors that they would refer their own family members to. Only 37 dermatologists were selected to be 2010 Southern California Super Doctors . Thus, it is quite an honor to be chosen as a Super Doctor by one’s peers.
Dr. Amerian is a board certified dermatologist specializing in cosmetic and general dermatology. She has practiced in Malibu and in Santa Monica for the last 23 years, and also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and Dermatology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Amerian has been featured on the cover of the Health section of the Los Angeles Times for her work on the VelaSmooth device for the treatment of cellulite. She served as a consulting dermatologist for all four seasons of the television show “10 Years Younger,” which can be seen on The Learning Channel. She has also contributed her expertise to the television show “The Doctors.”
