Malibu Association of Realtors President Jan Thompson recently presented a donation for Malibu High School’s “Grad Night” to students Scarlette Tidy and Hap Henry. On Grad Night, Malibu High seniors will be provided with safe transportation to Lucky Strike Bowling in Hollywood. There will be bowling, billiards, music, dancing, six plasma TV screens showing movies and a video montage of the class of 2010, three buffets, raffle prizes and more.
Traditionally, nearly all the new graduates attend this memorable finale to their high school experience, then return to Malibu by bus very early the following morning.
The goal of Grad Night is to keep the senior students safe, substance-free and off the roads the night of graduation. The program has been extremely successful in Malibu and other communities. Donations from the community make Grad Night available to all seniors, and also provide scholarships for students who might otherwise not be able to participate.
The Grad Night committee is also accepting raffle items and gift card donations so each student will win at least one prize. Many seniors are headed off to college, so dorm items are very popular prizes.
Those seeking more information, or who wish to make a donation, can contact Cathy Egner, Grad Night chair, at 310.457.4188.
