Malibu Resident Delivers Commencement Speech

Malibu resident Paul K. Jhin gave a commencement speech to the graduates of the San Fernando Valley YouthBuild, a program of ABC Learn, Inc. in partnership with John Muir Charter School. Students who are part of the program are usually classified as low income and high risk. Jhin used his commencement address to share his belief that adversity does not have to destroy and it can become a source of strength. 

Jhin has been the recipient of three presidential appointments and has served as Director of the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging. He has earned five college degrees, including a doctorate in mathematics education and master’s in governmentÂ
