Miss Malibu to be crowned

Bianca Peters is the current Miss Malibu. A new one will be crowned on Saturday.

Bluffs Park will be the site of the sixth annual Miss Malibu Pageant.

Bianca Peters, who was crowned Miss Malibu 2010 last August, will be in attendance to pass the crown to her successor. Joining her will be KTLA Morning News reporter Wendy Burch and Emmy-winning actress/activist/author Jackie Guerra. They will serve as co-hosts for this year’s festivities. Burch will also provide private media training for the winner to prepare her for the state pageant and for her various media responsibilities as Miss Malibu.

Malibu Mayor Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner will be one of the judges selecting the new Miss Malibu from among 30 contestants. Other judges include recording artist Taylor Dayne, Stephanie Pratt from “The Hills,” Necar Zadegan of “24,” Shar Jackson from “Celebrity Fit Club,” celebrity personal trainer Eric Viskovicz, “Days of Our Lives” casting director Marnie Saitta, professional poker player Lee Watkinson, E! casting director Annie Roberts and Ashley Jones from “True Blood.”

The pop rock band Plain White T’s will be on hand as Honorary Guest Judges to select and present the “Most Photogenic” acknowledgment. Noted philanthropists Christine and Gabriel Chiu will present the special awards for Community Service and Miss Congeniality. Model, actress, DJ and swimsuit designer Caroline D’Amore will provide entertainment for the audience as well as her chic swimsuits for the contestants.

The title holder of Miss Malibu USA 2011 will go on to compete for the title of Miss California USA 2011 on Nov. 21 at the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs.

The pageant will take place on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are available for $35 (VIP tickets $50) at www.missmalibu.com. There will also be a pre-show cocktail reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. featuring a silent auction of celebrity memorabilia and gift packages. The After Party/Celebration will take place at Gladstones from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
