The Coronet Debutante Ball Board announced its 2014 debutantes at a luncheon in August at the Bel Air Country Club. Malibu resident Kaitlin Moore was among those selected to debut later this year.

Debutantes are selected based on community service. Mary Montalbo, president of the board, explained that the girls have worked for six years as volunteers in the community, which is more than the high school requirement. Montalbo gave each girl a 14-karat gold lavalier to be worn the evening of their debut, which is November 29 at the 65th Coronet Ball.

Part of the festivities at the luncheon was a fashion show in which past Coronet debutantes wore the ball gowns they debuted in. The event ended with a salute by Montalbo, thanking family and friends present for the support they have given to the future debutantes.
