Attendees at last year’s Malibu Artfest examine a piece of artwork.

The Malibu Artfest will be held at How’s Market on June 26 and 27.

The fine arts festival will feature artists and crafts people presenting their original work in all mediums of two- and three-dimensional fine art, including paintings in acrylic, oils and watercolors; photography, etchings and sculptures in clay, glass, metal, stone and wood. All work is available for purchase.

Artists from throughout California will be present. Indio artist John Weidenhamer will present his large, acrylic on canvas paintings of vibrant, colorful flowers. Sig Detonancour of Arroyo Grande will present his life-size sculpture in wood and stone and Dean Hess will present his brilliant metal sculpture work. In addition to fine art, fine crafts will also be presented. Festival attendees will find blown glass, turned wood, semi precious jewelry, pottery, stained glass and an array of high-quality crafts.

The Malibu Artfest will be held at How’s Market, 30745 Pacific Coast Highway. The hours of the event are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free. The event is handicap-accessible.

The Malibu Artfest will benefit “Special Spirit,” a local nonprofit organization dedicated to handicapped athletes and is presented by West Coast Artists. Additional information is available at the group’s Web site: westcoastartists.com.
