Lisa Rinna and Daisy Fuentes get in the spirit at the Beverly Hilton

Soap talk queen Lisa Rinna was among the familiar faces who turned out in Beverly Hills the other night as the Wellness Community of West Los Angeles held its annual tribute to the Human Spirit Awards Gala. Locals Courtney Cox and David Arquette chaired the evening, which raised several hundred thousand dollars to provide love and support to people with life threatening illnesses.

This year’s honorees included legendary crooner Robert Goulet, sitcom star Eric McCormack, TV host Daisy Fuentes, Rhino Weir and Ruth Weil.

The honorees were thanked for their valuable contributions to the community and for raising awareness on the medical front. The evening wrapped up with a musical performance by Roslyn Kind.

HAUTE HOTEL

It seems like only yesterday that biz whiz Peter Morton gambled on a guitar-shaped celebrity stop on a stretch of Southern Nevada sand. A decade later, the Hard Rock is still riding high as one of the world’s hippest hotels. The über-establishment pulled out all the stops at its 10th anniversary bash with a sushi smorgasbord courtesy of Nobu. They were jamming under the stars with Bon Jovi and enjoyed a full concert by Coldplay. Nine Inch Nails ended the evening on a heavy metal high note. Jessica Simpson, Tara Reid and Tommy Lee were among the rocking revelers.

TOMMY LEE’S ABCs

No shortage of local talent on TV these days. It seems like just about everyone in town has their own reality show. Mom-to-be Britney Spears is documenting life with Kev and her purse-sized pooch; it’s a family act with David and Linda Foster making music and Catherine Oxenberg gives us the royal scoop on “I Married a Princess.”

Want more? How about Tommy Lee goes to college? That’s right, Malibu’s totally tattooed bad boy is hoping to make the grade at the University of Nebraska. Talk about higher education!

The Motley Crue rocker says, however, that this was one time he couldn’t get totally out of control-“It’s NBC, dude.” Asked whether this, um…big man on campus got any action, he said, not really. “I had to be kind of a good boy out there.”

Yeah…r-r-r-r-ight.

WITCHY WOMAN

There is a whole lotta hype about the remake of the ’60s sitcom “Bewitched.” The film stars Nicole Kidman who takes on role of hocus pocus housewife Samantha while Will Farrell fills the stumbling shoes of hapless hubby Darrin Stevens. It remains to be seen whether “Bewitched” will cast a spell on moviegoers. But I couldn’t think of a better pick to play Sam’s flame-haired meddling mom than our own Shirley Maclaine.
