Members of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station hosted a holiday party for the community.

The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station turned into Santa’s workshop on Dec. 13, hosting a special holiday event with the YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club.

“We reached out to children in the community and wanted to open our doors,” said Lt. Jennifer Seetoo. Deputies dressed as elves and Capt. Patrick Davoren played the part of Santa. Davoren cooked hot dogs and hamburgers, one deputy performed magic tricks and Malibu Search and Rescue team members gave rides on their equipment. The station also set up a popcorn machine and poured hot chocolate.

“This is our first year,” says Seetoo. “I didn’t realize how many people in this community were hurting. Some said they wouldn’t have a Christmas if not for the sheriff ’s department. Even the deputies had tears in their eyes.”
