Spirits enthusiasts of Malibu will be delighted to learn Saddle Peak Lodge unveiled its brand new whiskey room, The Double Barrel, late last month.
This converted attic of the historic establishment offers a gorgeous mountain-side patio for sunset views and evening nightcaps. Saddle Peak Lodge has been a Malibu Canyon treasure for more than 30 years and The Double Barrel Room is the perfect addition to this elegant mountain lodge.
The Double Barrel features hundreds of whiskeys and an exclusive list of classic cocktails. Malibu locals can visit Saddle Peak and become a member of The Double Barrel by purchasing a bottle of whiskey and leaving it in a designated locker to enjoy whenever they visit the lodge. Owner Deep Septhi says, “We wanted to offer an elevated experience by creating an exclusive lounge where guests can feel [like they are] part of something special and take part in a wonderful ritual when visiting.”
In addition to their exquisite menu of drinks, The Double Barrel features a small food menu (created by Chef Adam Horton) with whiskey-inspired items like Mint Julep Pork Belly Tartine glazed in bourbon, Portabella Fries with smoked ketchup and Islay whiskey aioli, Shishito Peppers with Japanese whiskey glaze and more.
