In news from down the coast … Elon Musk plans quite an addition to Santa Monica Boulevard.

Tesla plans its first combination drive-in restaurant and supercharger station … in the midst of the car dealers at 14th at Santa Monica Boulevard.

Musk first tweeted his plans on January 6th … and we quote:

“Gonna put an old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA,” Musk wrote.

Tesla has filed a planning pre-submittal notice with the city.

And the city of Santa Monica may not like this. 

They’ve been trying to get rid of automobile-centered land uses on its major streets.
