Twice recently on weekdays, en route from Malibu Knolls to the Cross Creek business center, we were diverted at the signal light at the intersection of Malibu Canyon Road and Civic Center Way. The traffic backup began right at the light and continued up the hill to PCH. We moved slowly up the hill, watching the light at PCH change four times. Our destinations were the library and the medical center, for which this traffic-engineered detour unnecessarily diverted us and other local traffic onto Pacific Coast Highway.
On the return from our business errands we again encountered delays at the Webb Way light and approaching the right turn lane at the top of the hill at PCH and Malibu Canyon. After 46 years of enjoying easy access to either PCH or Cross Creek Center, we consider this “solution” both inconvenient and aggravating.
I have also been advised that this traffic study is adversely affecting business at the Cross Creek Center. I strongly recommend that this study be terminated as quickly as possible and relieve us of the aggravation and frustration sooner than the proposed six month trial.
