The Malibu High School girls basketball team recently won its second championship title at the Battle by the Beach tournament in early December.

The Sharks were led by senior forward Nina Hungerland, who scored 16 points to contribute to a 48-25 title game victory over Fillmore High. Hungerland led all four tournament games in steals, blocks and assists. 

With their top seven players returning from last year, the Sharks posted a 5-0 record in the early non-league season. The team has been invited to play in the Gator Classic Tournament in Las Vegas on Dec. 26-30.
