“I’m worried for those who are at Malibu High School and that it might already be contaminated from PCBs. I’m glad that I don’t go to that school, but I’m also not happy that summer’s over. I like math a lot, I do like learning different things.”

“I’m really sad that summer’s over because I really enjoyed it. And I feel like it went by so fast, I wish there could be another month or two, like start in September. We used to start after Labor Day weekend but then they changed the whole thing and now summer feels so much shorter.”
“I just love summer and I honestly just like going to school because it’s super social and, other than that, school is not my favorite. I go to Malibu High and I don’t feel 100% comfortable going back to school not knowing what is exactly in the environment … I think I should do homeschooling ’til it’s figured out.”
“I’m ready for school to start but I’m going to miss relaxing at home, having fun and no homework. I am looking forward to seeing my friends though.”
“It feels very scary and I’m kind of sad about it because I miss summer…I am happy to see my friends, so that’s a plus. I guess I’m excited to learn, well I don’t know if kids are ever excited to learn, but you have to learn anyway, so I guess I’m kind of excited about that.”
“I don’t really mind at all. I had an alright summer and I’m looking forward to history class.”
