As part of the group’s ongoing fight for support of small business owners in Malibu, the grassroots group Preserve Malibu has announced plans to bring back “cash mobs” next month.

A cash mob invites participants to meet at a local business at a set date and time and spend money to boost the local economy. In the past, attendees have been asked to spend at least $20 at the chosen business.

Preserve Malibu has scheduled the next event for Nov. 10 from 3 to 5 p.m.

The location of the cash mob is usually announced on or closer to the day of the event. Past “mobs” have been held at Drill Surf Shop, Trancas Nursery and the boutique Pinnacle.
