It’s been a busy week at the Malibu Pier. First, the Malibu Farm emerged as a pop-up eatery setting up shop at the end of the pier. Then, a cigarette sparked a fire and tore through 20 pier planks next to the Malibu Farm’s space. Now, Eater LA has reported that a Northern California restaurant management group may take the reigns of the two remaining restaurant spaces on the pier.

The Lark Creek Restaurant Group is said to be planning a Malibu location at the side of the pier closest to Pacific Coast Highway, according to Eater, though reps for the company have declined to comment. Based in San Francisco, the group’s businesses include One Market restaurant in San Francisco and Lark Creek in Newport Beach. The Lark Creek group was co-founded by Michael Dellar, Leslye Dellar, chef Bradley Ogden and Jody Ogden.

Earlier this year, pier co-concessionaire Alexander Leff told The Malibu Times that the pier’s three vacant restaurant spaces would be filled by the end of this summer. The pier has not had a restaurant since Ruby’s Shake Shack shuttered in 2011.
