The summer is fully and officially upon us and that means summer reading is here! In fiction, our local Point Dume still tops the list-a great read for beach or travel. Otherwise, Stieg Larsson continues to figure prominently on the list, as latecomers get started and avid fans complete his trilogy of novels. In nonfiction, local books on Malibu dominate with a birding guide, a local history and a personal memoir; along with books on food by Alice Waters, Michael Pollan and Geneen Roth. Check out Rick Riordan’s takeover of the children’s list with his tales of epic adventure continuing in the new Kane Chronicles series. Kids summer reading selections from local schools are on display at our store, so come on in and stock up on fun summer reading for young and old alike.
