Malibu’s Top Ten Books

New summer books are here: “Point Dume,” “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest” and the first in the new Rick Riordan series, “Kane Chronicles: Red Pyramid.” Local author Katie Arnoldi’s fictional take on Malibu’s history and present beat out Stieg Larsson’s latest, much anticipated novel. Larsson has, however, landed three of his novels on the fiction list at the same time. Don’t miss the highly praised, sleeper bestseller and award winner “Tinkers,” No. 10 this month on the fiction list. In nonfiction, Sebastian Junger’s “War” is getting a great deal of attention as is the powerfully told, “A Thousand Sisters.” For children, a wonderful range of books graces this list, from sharks to princesses, wimpy kids to llamas.
