Pepperdine named two new members—Brett Biggs and Seth A. Haye—to its Board of Regents on Monday, July 16. Both Biggs and Haye are corporate executives with accomplished backgrounds.

Haye has been an executive director and portfolio management director at Morgan Stanley since 2004, and is also a senior partner of the Oaks Group. Most recently he was ranked No.13 on the list, and ranked No. 2 in California for Forbes list of America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors, overall becoming No. 16 out of 500 in all of the U.S.

Haye was also honored to be named on Pepperdine University’s list of Top 40 under 40, where both he and his wife of 16 years, Jolyn, attended. Recently, they established an endowed scholarship for Christian leaders at Pepperdine where Haye now serves on the board for. Additionally, the two are involved in organizations for helping foster youth, fighting against human trafficking, funding clean water-wells in third-world countries and have helped out in their community church for more than 20 years.

Biggs is the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Walmart, and is responsible for the finance functions of Walmart Enterprise Solutions as well as Global Business Services.  Prior to this role, Biggs held a position as the chief financial officer for Walmart International, Walmart U.S. and Sam’s Club. Biggs also has experience in numerous mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance positions with Leggett & Platt, Phillips Petroleum Company, and of operations for Sam’s Club before joining Walmart in 2000.

Outside his career, Biggs is also involved in various civic functions such as the Walton Arts Center Board and a nonprofit group to help children in Africa with acute malnutrition. Recently, he joined the board of trustees of the National Urban League. Aside from being Walmart’s corporate representative on the McCombs School of Business Advisory Council at the University of Texas, he also serves on their foundation board and as an executive sponsor for the Hispanic-Latino Resource group.
