Wildlife Center on
YouTube
California Wildlife Center, a nonprofit organization with a facility located just outside of Malibu that rescues and rehabilitates sick and injured animals, has released a video on YouTube, the popular Internet site where individuals and groups can post their own videos.
CWC’s video can be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pelon-KBut8. The video, created by Marcia Orland at Afterglow Media and partially funded by CWC Board member Dr. Lisa Newell, is a brief overview of CWC’s mission, purpose and operations. CWC staff and volunteers are shown working with a variety of species, including deer, coyote and bobcats to owls, hawks and pelicans, tiny field mice, and even an opossum getting a much-needed bath. The video also shows CWC’s Marine Mammal team rescuing California sea lions that have become ill and beached themselves in an effort to warm up and conserve energy. And the organization’s active in-school education program is also represented.
