Last year's winner from the 33rd Congressional District

Congressman Ted Lieu’s office is looking for art submissions from talented high school students who live in California’s 33rd congressional district. Sponsored by the Congressional Institute, the annual nationwide competition offers a chance for young local artists to be recognized and encouraged on a national stage.

Students are asked to submit original art pieces to their congressional representative and a panel of art professionals will select the winning entry, which will then be displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. Winners will be recognized here as well as at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Entries must be two dimensional, no larger than 26 inches wide by 26 inches tall by four inches thick, weigh no more than 15 pounds and be original in concept, design and execution.

The competition takes place on Saturday, April 22, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.
