The magnitude 4.5 earthquake was felt all around Southern California.

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck seven miles from Cabazon, Calif., early Tuesday, May 8.

The earthquake first hit at 4:49 a.m. with a depth of seven miles. A number of smaller aftershocks—ranging in a magnitude of one to two—hit the area hours after the initial earthquake. Tremors were felt in multiple neighboring areas, including Banning, Palm Springs, Moreno Valley, Barstow and San Bernardino, according to the United States Geological Survey website. The LA Times reported shaking was felt “from San Diego to Santa Clarita.”

There were no reports of property damage or injuries.

The City of Malibu used the earthquake as a reminder for residents to prepare for “the big one.”

“No damage reported from the minor 4.5 magnitude #earthquake that struck near Banning CA at 4:49 AM. But it’s a good reminder to make sure your family emergency plan is in shape!” a city post read.
