April may not have brought much rain but it did bring a deluge of new titles, in hardcover and paperback. The literary thriller “The Raw Shark Texts” is just out and taking the English-speaking world by storm. New in paperback, “Water for Elephants” has precipitated right onto the fiction bestseller list, again. And the new David Baldacci novel has crept up onto the list as well.
In nonfiction, the new Einstein bio by Walter Isaacson has arrived, to thunderous praise. And Lynne Cox’ books have also moved up the list, with “Grayson” finishing up its One Book, One City – Malibu stint. “Eat, Pray, Love” holds steady in the No. 1 spot, and an appearance at Diesel is scheduled for June 10.
For children’s bestsellers this month, anticipation for that lightning-browed Harry Potter is building, with preorders mounting and a midnight party at the Diesel store planned for the release date. April’s list reads like plot outline-from “Dog” to “The Golden Rule.”
