Rethink parking plan

Is it possible that Zan Marquis of Point Dume Village has never visited this location at lunchtime or at three in the afternoon or on a summer weekend? I am concerned about the nonfunctional proportions of the new (and not improved) lot and the hazards presented by the layout. Whose bright idea was it to plant bushes at the end of each parking row, blocking the view of anyone trying to exit the row either to find a spot or to get to the exit? Or to spend thousands of dollars to lay a flagstone walkway in front of Pavilions which now must be driven on to make the turn out of the row?

I understand that the current parking disasters might be caused by the parking of workers/employees, but what plans are there to accommodate the increased parking that will result from a store with theoretically more employees? I suggest the following to ensure the safety of drivers/pedestrians: transplant the bushes at the end of each parking row to the center row or remove; designate the end spots of each row as “compacts only” (no trucks, no SUV’s, no vans) so drivers can see oncoming traffic before exiting; clearly mark the entrance/exit to the village; designate parking rows as “one-way” as they are too narrow with large vehicles going both ways; and forego the landscaping and add more parking spaces!

This parking lot was challenged to handle the needs of Cooke’s Market, the banks, smaller shops and the pharmacy. How can it be expected to accommodate the needs of a supposedly more appealing and larger Pavilions?
