TMT Multimedia Editor Julie Ellerton has fun with “Blobby”—a monster character in the “Hotel Transylvania” films—at the event, held at Sony Studios.

Sony Studios’ garden patio transformed into a tropical island paradise for Sony Pictures Animation’s “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” press day.

The day included screening clips from the film and a Q&A with voice cast members, including  Selena Gomez (Mavis), Andy Samberg (Johnny), Kathryn Hahn (Erika Van Helsing) and Keegan-Michael Key (Murray), in addition to director and writer Genndy Tartakovsky.

The group of comedic actors had the press laughing when answering questions about their voiceover roles, the sights and sounds of the sound booth, and the fun they had with one another. When asked how children respond to her, Gomez, who has voiced the character Mavis since “Hotel Transylvania” came out in 2012, said, “They don’t really care to talk to me, they call me Mavis and it’s just the coolest thing.”

After the Q&A wrapped, press had time for photo-ops with the larger-than-life characters and nibble on “Blobby” cupcakes and other monster snacks.

“Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” is the third installment of the franchise and sequel to “Hotel Transylvania 2.” In this animated comedy, the adventure starts when Drac (voiced by Adam Sandler), his daughter Mavis (Gomez) and monster family and friends head on a vacation aboard a luxury cruise, Monster Cruise Ship.
