Malibu Seen

OH, WHAT A NIGHT!

It takes a perfect combo of glitzy fashion, glamorous celebs and a great cause to drive a divine do. And when Nancy Davis is behind the wheel, you just know it’s going to be a high-octane affair.

Nancy hosted her 15th annual Race to Erase fundraiser at the Century Plaza Hotel. And in keeping with tradition, her posh, high-profile pals turned out in force.

Malibu’s Ray Romano, party girl Paris Hilton, dancing queen Lisa Rinna and “Tonight Show” icon Ed McMahon were among those making the scene.

Emmy Rossum waltzed the red carpet in basic black, as did Nicky Hilton. Nic’s sis Paris went all out in color and electrified in a psychedelic satin halter dress.

The slogan for the evening was “Orange You Happy to Erase MS” and orange was introduced as the cause’s new color. Guys got in the spirit with enough tangerine bow ties, jackets and trousers to make Pat Boone weep.

Nancy’s son, Jason, also joined in the fashion fun. ” I’m not afraid to wear orange anymore,” he said, noting his impressive weight loss. “Now I am a sexy pumpkin instead of a chubby pumpkin.”

To kick things off, Nancy’s shining stars and supporters checked out the irresistible items at the silent auction, which was decked out in orange fabric with glowing Lucite tables and glittering orange hearts. A-list florist Mark’s Garden had a blooming good time dressing the place up with orange spring tulips, orange renuculas, orange pincushion protea and orange orchids.

Major must-haves included Tommy Hilfiger’s red, white and blue custom motorcycle. You could zip off in a mini Mercedes Benz covered in gold and rhinestones with Chanel seats, go high-brow with Van Cleef gems or get the whole hog with a catering truck from In ‘N Out Burger.

Soon it was time for Tommy’s fab fashion show. As the lights went down, a bevy of beauties, buffed out guys and VIPs sashayed down the catwalk to a rock and roll beat. They strutted their stuff in crisp, navy jackets, ’70s-era short shorts, floppy hats and wedge sandals. It was a showcase of summer-inspired clothing that had you ready to hit the sand.

After the live auction, there was a touching tribute to the woman who made it all possible and has raised millions in the fight against MS. “This effort is my mother’s legacy,” said Jason, “and I am so proud to be her son.” Nancy acknowledged her Nancy Davis Center Without Walls, its “dream team of doctors” and all the inroads that have been made since her crusade began.

“We have replaced hopelessness with hopefulness,” she said. “A 15th anniversary means crystal, and my crystal ball says that the cure to MS is becoming a reality.”

When it comes to entertainment for her glitzy galas, Nancy goes all out. In years past, she’s lined up everyone from Donna Summer to Don Henley. But this year she brought out the ultimate Valli guy. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons took to the stage crooning a string of hits like “Oh, What a Night,” “Sherry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Walk Like a Man.” The Jersey boys and their doo-wop tunes had the crowd on its feet and grooving in the aisles.

Nancy’s fete to the finish line raised more than $2 million to make MS a thing of the past.
