Malibu’s Roma Downey answers prayers in her latest TV project.

Malibu miracle worker Roma Downey racked up one success after another with her hit shows “The Bible” and “A.D. The Bible Continues.” But this multi-talented mom/producer/actress isn’t about to stop there.

Her latest gift to faithful fans is a new show called “Answered Prayers.” The series kicks off Sunday, July 26 on TLC.

This one is a groundbreaker. Roma describes it as an exploration of, “the experiences of ordinary people challenged by the most extraordinary circumstances — and through divine intervention they miraculously live to tell the tale.”

There’s the riveting story of a young boy buried for hours under 11 feet of sand, a pastor who was stabbed 37 times and made it through and a family that survived their car plunging upside down into an icy river bank.

The stories are truly unique. “Each individual’s unwavering faith and trust in the power of prayer has transformed these potentially heartbreaking situations into hopeful stories of true inspiration,” Roma explained. “This show will warm even the hardest of hearts. I believe when hearts are open, grace moves in. My hope is that many people will be reminded that they are never alone.”

Keep the faith and stay tuned.

MORE SUMMER TV

Got the summer rerun blues? Well, locals like Martin Sheen offer lots of fresh fare. His new Netflix show has an all-star cast with not only Martin, but also Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Sam Waterston.

It tells the tale of a pair of rivals who discover their husbands want to run off with each other. It’s called “Grace and Frankie” and is yet another first for Netflix. Marty plays Jane’s husband while Waterston teams up with Lily, but not for long.

For a serious actor like Martin Sheen, this one is serious fun. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, but touching as well. So, with all these talented actors in an original series and an unusual script, what’s not to like?

Malibu beauty Halle Berry is back for another season of “Extant.” Halle teams up with Jeffrey Dean Morgan for the second season of this sci-fi thriller.

For something out of this world, check out “The Astronaut Wives Club.” The series is based on real life women married to space pioneers like Alan Shepard and John Glenn.

If you’re looking for a walk on the wild side, there’s “Zoo.” Based on the James Patterson novel, this time the animals take over. James Wolk plays a young scientist who ventures out to investigate.

And, local Tom Hanks is returning for a follow up to his hit series “The Sixties.” This one explores the next decade with a look at Watergate, disco, Vietnam and all those ’70s shows.

So relax, summer doesn’t have to be a TV bummer if you know where to look.
