Founding Calvary Chapel pastor to leave Malibu
After nine years of serving the Malibu community, Bill and Kim Forsyth will be moving from Calvary Chapel Malibu to join the pastoral staff at Kumulani Chapel in Kapalua, Maui.
Bill Forsyth is the founding pastor of Calvary Chapel Malibu.
Forsyth grew up in Malibu and attended Webster Elementary School, Malibu Park Junior High School, and Santa Monica High School. From 1979 to 2002, Forsyth lived in Maui, where he met his wife, Kim. In 2002, they moved back to Malibu to start Calvary Chapel Malibu. Each of their four grown children graduated from Malibu High School.
Calvary Chapel Malibu has worked closely with Young Life Malibu, and serves as the hosting church for Christian Surfers Malibu. The church also serves with SOS Malibu feeding the homeless, and is one of the main supporters of “Keeping Christ in Christmas,” which displays the nativity scene each Christmas at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Civic Center Way.
