Q: What do you do for Valentine’s Day?

“I get her something nice; flowers and a card, say something nice on it. Sometimes jewelry, which always works, of course. But I definitely think it’s a commercial venture that’s keeping the economy rolling, so we’re all for that.”

Q: Have you ever forgotten Valentine’s Day?

“I don’t think so. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten in big trouble for it, so I’m going to say no. I try to be romantic, you know, I want to get credit for these events.”

Q: What does Valentine’s Day mean to you?

“It’s the day we get to slow down and show the people who mean something to us, the people we love, how we feel. If you’re too busy the rest of the year, it’s one day that you can go out of your way and spend time with them, especially your wife, daughter and mom, or call them”

Q: Have you ever forgotten Valentine’s Day?

“I have. It usually doesn’t go over that well, you have to have a quick recovery. You run to the store, ‘I forgot some milk’ and you pick up some gifts and flowers.”

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Valentine’s Day?

“My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is my boyfriend, Jeff Redman, always takes charge and he always surprises me! So that’s my most favorite thing, that I don’t have to do anything, he makes all the plans! It’s fun, I don’t know what we’re doing and I’m super excited! He definitely keeps me captivated.”

Q: What was your worst Valentine’s Day?

“The worst Valentine’s Day I had was when I was in my 20s. I had this boyfriend and we’d been together forever. I really thought I was going to get an engagement ring. When he gave me my gift, I literally dug through it, I was tossing everything out, waiting to find this little box. No box! That was the worst because I really thought I was getting engaged.”

Q: So out with the old and in with the new?

“Out with the old in with the new, exactly!”

Q: What was your best Valentine’s Day?

“For me, Valentine’s Day is actually my father’s birthday, so I generally do spend time with the family. Valentine’s Day is about love and I love nothing more than spending time with people that I care about, and I’m looking forward to spending this Valentine’s Day with my friends and family. Being that I’m a baker, red velvet is key for Valentine’s Day along with vanilla and sprinkles, hearts and kisses”

Q: What was your worst Valentine’s Day?

“The worst Valentine’s Day, I’ll never forget, this is great, he’s going to kill me,” she says laughing. “My first boyfriend in high school, he’s great and we’re great friends. I remember he waited till the day after Valentine’s Day to give me a rose that was broken and dead. Unbelievable! Needless to say, we are great friends today, but honestly, it doesn’t get worse than that when you’re in high school.”

Q: What will you guys do on Valentine’s Day?

“Eat ice cream! We’re going to watch ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’ and eat a bunch of ice cream, Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked. And get a large pizza.”
