Truth or fallacy seems to be dominating the news in the publishing world-in the political world, too, when you come to think of it. Bestselling “A Million Little Pieces” moves over to the fiction category-possibly a first: bestseller in nonfiction making a lateral move to the fiction bestseller list!

New to the fiction list is the dark, fascinating Russian novel by James Meek, “The People’s Act of Love”-a highly recommended Diesel favorite. Also, new in paperback, another great Russian read, last year’s “Wolves Eat Dogs,” by head of the spy/intrigue genre Martin Cruz Smith; great storyline, excellent writing-a mystery for wintry evenings.

New in the nonfiction category: “Misquoting Jesus,” by Bart D. Ehrman, on the use and misuse of the Bible throughout history. A wonderful history, very relevant and timely, published to rave reviews.

Louis Sachar’s new book “Small Steps” heads the children’s list this month. “Curious George” books have also been hitting the list; tied to the new movie. And Dick Van Dyke’s “Mr. Finnegan’s Giving Chest” is back in stock, a wonderful book for any season.
