There’s warm weekend ahead for Malibu, but beach-goers beware: the National Weather Service has issued a surf warning.

Saturday is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 76. It will remain partly cloudy through the evening, with an expected low of 64, according to The Weather Channel.

Similarly, Sunday is forecast to be partly cloudy with a high of 77. It will remain partly cloudy throughout the day, cooling down to an expected low of 65 in the evening.

Though the beach may beckon surfers this weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a surf warning for Malibu and surrounding areas in Los Angeles.

Strong rip currents and dangerous swimming conditions went into effect Thursday evening, and will stay in effect through Sunday, The Malibu Times previously reported.

There are expected to be strong rip tides due to a south swell and tidal range in south-facing beaches like Zuma and Point Mugu. Waves will be in the 3-to-4 food range, although they can reach up to 5 feet.

The NWS urges beach-goers to use caution when in or near the water, and to stay near occupied lifeguard towers. They recommend to never swim alone, and to swim parallel to the shore if caught in a rip current.
