The United States Postal Service will not be conducting most business—including regular mail delivery and retail services in store—on Wednesday, Dec. 5, due to a national day of mourning declared by President Trump.
The declaration honors the 41st president, George H.W. Bush, who died last Friday, Nov. 30, at the age of 94.
A statement posted to the USPS website states “the United States Postal Service will suspend regular mail deliveries, retail services and administrative office activity.”
Package delivery will continue in a limited fashion due to the holiday season.
Some national parks will be closed, as the National Park Service will observe the day of mourning. Visit nps.gov/findapark/index.htm for park hours.
Note: There may be a delay in receiving your copy of The Malibu Times via mail due to the national day of mourning observance. The online edition will not be affected by this delay.
