The Malibu Screening Room at Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue will host an evening of music, film, food and more to benefit wildfire victims on Thursday, June 27.
Singer, songwriter and filmmaker Celleste—a Malibu resident—will take the stage for a live performance, along with a screening of her newest project, “We Go On (California Strong),” which was created by her and her partner, co-writer and music producer Eric Dick.
“In January 2018, Celleste and Eric realized their dream and moved from Montreal to Malibu,” according to information shared with The Malibu Times. “While recording Celleste’s new album, their lives were impacted by the Woolsey Fire and they were forced to evacuate. They wrote ‘We Go On, (California Strong)’ as a tribute to the strength and courage of all those affected by the fires.”
The evening will feature a screening of “We Go On (California Strong),” live music by Celleste, a silent auction, food, wine and more. All ticket sales and proceeds go to the WeGoOn Fund, created in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.
“We feel blessed to have met so many beautiful and courageous people who have done nothing but shine in the face of adversity,” Celleste said in a provided statement. “Witnessing the strength and resiliency of this community first-hand has been truly inspirational.”
