WISHING ON A STAR

Calling all foodies! Your graze-a-thon is right around the corner. Wine lovers, gourmets and gourmands of every stripe will gather at the Barker Hanger for The Make-A-Wish Foundation’s 11th Annual Wine Tasting and Auction. The spread features all-you-can-sip chardonays, cabs and merlots courtesy of 100 world renowned wineries, as well as bite-sized treats and sweets from 30 of L.A.’s top eateries. You’ll find table after table piled high with piping hot tamales from Sonora Café, sensational shells from the Water Grille, juicy links from Pink’s and all that fine fromage from the Cheese Store of Beverly Hills.

“Entertainment Tonight’s” Bob Goen takes over the auctioneer duties once again and celebrity martini makers will be out in force shaking it up at the frosty ice bars. In addition to all that great grub and grape, the evening will feature a little stand-up shtick by “Everybody Loves Raymond’s” Brad Garrett.

Every year, the Make-A-Wish gang raises hundreds of thousands of dollars to make dreams come true for children who are suffering with life-threatening conditions. So, break out your bib and dig in for a good cause. Dinner is served on March 13.

SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT

Barbra Steisand can add another award to her long list of achievements. Our local diva will be honored by the fine folks over at the Human Rights Campaign at their upcoming gala. She’s in line to receive this year’s Humanitarian Award. Also sharing the honors will be Craig Zadan of Storyline Entertainment as well as Neil Meron of Bienestar Human Services. The HRC is the nations’ largest gay and lesbian organization. The liberating shindig takes place at the Century Plaza Hotel on March 6.

FOCKER’S FUNNY GIRL

Speaking of Barbra, she’s played many parts, but Ben Stiller’s mother? It could happen because Stiller is actively courting the songbird to be his Mamala in the much-anticipated sequel to “Meet the Parents.”

To bring you up to speed, ex-CIA man Jack Byrnes has given his daughter permission to marry Stiller’s character, male nurse Greg Focker. Now, Byrnes (Robert De Niro) must venture to the Motor City to “Meet the Fockers.”

Outrageous? Yes. Offbeat? Certainly. But is it Babs? Word on the street is that the legendary funny girl has agreed to mull it over. If she says “I do,” she will join Stiller and De Niro as well as Teri Polo, Blythe Danner and Owen Wilson. Barbra’s on-screen hubby is said to be none other than Dustin Hoffman. Now that’s Focking funny!
