Never in the history of Malibu politics have so many (members of Malibu CAN) been so wrong about so much, so often! And Tami Clark’s misguided attack on me is a perfect example of her ignorance of facts, compounded by her untrue allegations and speculations. Let me be specific.
First, Ms.Clark says that I “attacked and threatened Malibu CAN, who is opposing Measure M.” Really? Stating correctly that this group has violated State law is neither an attack nor a threat, Ms Clark; it’s a fact! Not that I am surprised that you don’t know that; so much of what Malibu CAN has published and stated publicly bears little or no resemblance to ‘truth in advertising!’ Or haven’t your somewhat invisible leaders told you about their failure to comply with FPPC regulations? Not that any names appear on any of your group’s materials or adverts.
On the other hand, the ‘Yes on Malibu” committee has indeed fully complied with the law, and has not stooped to the never ending barrage of misleading, inaccurate, speculative scare tactics that Malibu CAN (of which you say you are a ‘proud member’) continues to distribute throughout our city.
As for your ludicrous and blatantly untrue statement that our group (of which I am proud to be a member) is connected to the Malibu Bay Company, I suggest you think again, Ms. Clark. The MBC, which unsurprisingly supports Measure M for reasons that should be obvious even to you, has the right and the ability to pay for its own advertisements which it has done, but there is zero connection to ‘Yes on Malibu” and as for your laughable suggestion that the MBC has ‘created and paid for’ our campaign, well, I wonder who is feeding you such nonsense. The “Yes on Malibu” ballot measure committee has not solicited, received nor accepted one penny from any developer.
Finally, with regard to Ms. Clark’s reference to glass houses; be careful what you wish for,Tami, you might get it, and all our hopes for Malibu will be shattered.
