Make it clear again

In the year 2000, over 61% of the people in the State of California voted that “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” Pretty straightforward, right?

Guess not! Apparently four activist judges were “persuaded” to take another look at the issue and subsequently ruled that the outcome of the vote would be overturned. The will of the people was discounted. Who are these so-called Justices who reign supreme? Are they so important that they feel we are insignificant and not able to decide for ourselves what we want as a majority in the State of California?

It’s time that the people returned the favor by overturning the decision of the judges by voting “yes” on behalf of Proposition 8 (Protect Marriage). These judges would be much more effective if they upheld the laws already on the books as they were sworn to do. Should it have been necessary to vote on this issue again in order to get an amendment to our State Constitution? I think not.

We are wasting too much time and money on an issue that was decided years ago. I am voting “yes” on Proposition 8 and encourage everyone who agrees to do the same. The will of the majority of the people has been ignored for far too long.

We, the loyal, taxpaying citizens of this great State of California, expect and deserve better. Stop the continued erosion of our rights and privileges as decent values are attacked. The sanctity of marriage must be upheld. It’s time to stand up and be counted!
