Prominent lawyer Thomas Lambert died on Nov. 7. Lambert was best known for his work representing Fred Goldman during the successful civil trial against OJ Simpson.
“Tom has a presence in the courtroom that was unrivaled,” a loved one said.
Consistently considered one of the top trial lawyers in Los Angeles, Lambert’s professional capabilities were not limited to the courtroom. Tom spent his entire 44-year legal career at well-known Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP. It was the only law firm at which Lambert practiced, and he believed that it was his responsibility to shepherd the firm forward for the next generation, mentoring many young trial lawyers over the years. Lambert spent over 30 years on the firm’s Executive Committee and served as the firm’s Managing Partner for 12 years, having just stepped down at the beginning of this year.
Lambert has been named one of the Top 50 Trial Lawyers of Los Angeles by the LA Business Journal and among the top five percent of Southern California Lawyers by Super Lawyers.
Some of Lambert’s most notable legal matters include the OJ Simpson civil trial, Dino De Laurentiis, A&M Records vs. Salinger, Occidental Petroleum and Watson Pharmaceuticals.
Lambert was born in Chicago. He moved to LA for college and has been here ever since. He received his bachelor of arts degree with high honors from Loyola University in 1968 and his J.D. from UCLA Law School in 1971.
He is survived by his wife Susan, stepdaughter Amber, sisters Kathy and Mary, nephew Joseph and wife Rebekkah, and nieces Caitlin, Megan and Sarah.
