The 7th annual Miss Malibu Pageant was a festive affair.

Miss Malibu 2012 Brie Gabrielle and Miss Teen Malibu 2012 Micaela Brookman were crowned Sunday evening during the 7th annual Miss Malibu Pageant at the Malibu Golf Club.
Hundreds of family, friends and supporters turned out for the event, which was hosted by Malibu’s own Madison Hildebrand, star of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listings,” and E! entertainment correspondent Kristina Guerrero.
Celebrity judges included Old Spice actor Isaiah Mustafa, “Days of Our Lives” actor Galen Gering (both actors were named one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People”), actress and model Brandi Glanville of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and Aubrey O’Day of Oxygen’s “All About Aubrey.”
Other judges included Malibu Councilmember Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner, E! casting director Annie Roberts, Elizabeth Rovsek of Sun Kitten Swimwear (the pageant’s swimsuit sponsor), “Days of Our Lives” head casting director Marnie Saitta, Associate Publisher Shelley Fariello of OK! Magazine, Peter Young, creative director of INTA Gems & Diamonds, the official crown jeweler for the Miss California USA organization, as well as this writer.The Malibu Times sponsored the event.
The Lowkeys, a hip-hop/R&B/neo-soul group, provided fantastic entertainment and was one of the great highlights of the event during the after party. Also providing entertainment was Malibu’s singer/guitarist Hannah Mulholland whose voice filled the garden at the Malibu and Vine restaurant at the Malibu Golf Club. The newly opened Malibu and Vine restaurant provided a buffet dinner, as well as a sit-down dinner to guests after the pageant.
Newly crowned Miss Malibu 2012 Gabrielle was a vision in a sea-green blue gown during the pageant’s gown competition. The 21-year-old’s ambition is to be an actress and entertainment lawyer. For her final question of what is the most important issue facing Malibu, Gabrielle spoke of safety on Pacific Coast Highway, saying that something urgently needs to be done to address the speeding.
As to how she feels about winning the crown, Gabrielle said, “It feels absolutely amazing! There was honestly such a strong group of women competing this year, to have won is just a dream come true and I am so elated I get to give back to the Malibu community and represent Malibu at Miss California in January.”
Miss Teen Malibu 2012 Brookman, a 16-year-old junior at Malibu High School, would like to be a cinematographer and art curator.
Runners up for the Miss Malibu included: Brittany McGowan (1st Runner-up), Kyle Lardner (2nd Runner-up), Kayla Brown (3rd Runner-up) and Ebony Andrews (4th Runner-up). For Miss Malibu Teen the finalists were Priscilla Casper (1st Runner-up), Sami Freeman (2nd Runner-up), Ashley Lawrence (3rd Runner-up) and Morgan Thornsley (4th Runner-up).
