    BOWLED OVER

She may have been competing with the biggest sports day of the year, but Jane Seymour didn’t seem to have any problem drawing a crowd on Super Bowl Sunday.

Jane and hubby James Keach opened the doors to their breathtaking ocean-view home for the fifth annual Truffle Dinner to benefit City Hearts.

The ever-gracious couple even set up sofas and a big screen so football enthusiasts could watch the two-touchdown underdogs make the winning drive in the final 1:21.

Saint Louis fans who banked on the Rams being unbeatable consoled themselves with the ultimate comfort food. Celebrated chefs Joachim Splichal and Rolland Passot turned out a culinary triumph with such specialties as scrambled eggs with truffles, foie gras with ham and truffle salad, sea bass with truffle and butternut squash risotto and even caramelized apple galette and truffle ice cream. Malibu neighbors like Cindy Crawford, Liane Weintraub and John Paul DeJoria were among those savoring the tasty treats.

The feast pulled in more than $100,000 for the City Hearts organization, which brings performing arts and education programs to at-risk, inner-city kids. Jane said she was all too happy to help out with a worthy cause.

“Through the safe haven of the arts, kids are able to create something that is positive and enriching in their day-to-day lives,” she explained. “This is a priceless lesson that I feel privileged to be a part of.”

A silent auction featured lots of luxury loot like Badgley Mischka evening bags, Tiffany earrings and prime seats for the Clippers and the Kings.

As for the game, I was with the Patriots from the beginning. They laughed, they scoffed, but this one was in the stars. I knew there could only be one oucome -Cinderella to win-and boy did she ever! And by the way, so did City Hearts.

    NIGHT CAP

The temperature was below zero at Ground Zero in New York City the other night, and Malibuite Brent Robke was freezing his little earlobes off. Brent has been working at the site with the International Union of Operating Engineers since Sept. 16 and was touched by a generous token from a Malibu neighbor.

Barbra Streisand helped the gang bundle up by sending them a bunch of warm knit caps. Brent describes the toppers as blue with a red band, white stars and the inscription, “Love and thanks, Barbra.”

“It was so bloody cold out there and I thought that was really sweet,” he explained from his cell phone at the site. “Barbra doesn’t always get the best press and I thought someone should know.”

Well Brent, they do now. Thanks for the call and keep up the good work!
