Locals perform in the Teen Sketch Comedy Improv Show Friday night at City Hall.

The City of Malibu and the Young Actors project are hosting a Teen Sketch Comedy Improv Show Friday night. Teens will perform a live show featuring improvisation, comedic sketches and audience participation. Additionally, Battle of the Bands winner Kenton, a hip-hop artist from Malibu High School, will perform. Refreshments will also be provided. The show takes place at Malibu City Hall’s Civic Theater, 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd., at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. Saturday brings competition to Malibu with the annual Spartan Race. The Spartan Race, an obstacle course race featuring games, festivities and drinks, raises funds for Homes For Our Troops. The event takes place at Calamigos Ranch, 372 S. Latigo Canyon Rd., heats starting every half hour from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Entry costs $10 for spectators and $50-$75 for competitors. Just down the road The Topanga Symphony performs a free concert Sunday, at the Topanga Community House, 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., in Topanga, at 3 p.m. More information can be obtained by calling 818.591.8477
