The Paramount Hotel’s two-story “living room” lobby features dark woods, sculptural chandeliers and richly textured furniture, creating a playground meant for socializing.

In celebration of California Wine Month, St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church is gearing up for its wine festival fundraiser, “A Celebration of All Things Grape,” on Sunday, Sept. 22. The event will feature wines from Southern, Central and Northern California, as well as food, live local music, a raffle, and a silent and live auction. Proceeds from the festival will support organizations helping those in need, including Dorcas House, Nets for Life, School on Wheels, Malibu Community Labor Exchange and Sierra Service Project.

“We hope the community will come to this celebration,” Reverend Joyce Stickney said. “We would love for people to make a day of it and join us for the 8 or 10 a.m. service in our beautiful Mid- Century modern sanctuary. Then break for lunch or time at the beach and come back from 3 to 6 p.m. for the festival.”

The wine festival takes place Sept. 22 at St. Aidan’s, 28211 Pacific Coast Highway, at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $35.
