Even with all the contrived activities in Malibu, people seem to still be discontent. Once a happy place to just be, now there are “in-fights,” and groups that continue to bicker. Perhaps there needs to be less offered to give people a chance to be appreciative; or more beach visits, mountain hikes, nature walks, and places that are quiet and unpopulated. There are so many great and worthwhile things to do.
At the Arts Task Force meeting Oct. 6th, an architect mentioned that a beautiful flower display was ordered removed by the city. Apparently the design was a logo for a business called Passages and was considered advertising. He then went on to say how sad that something that beautiful would be removed and pointed to the signage at Bluffs Park and how they could be improved to be more pleasing to the eye.
I was also distressed about the removal. I always felt so happy when I saw it, it was so professionally done and detailed. I never thought of it as a logo, but as a beautiful flower arrangement. I think instead the city might have requested that the design be changed a bit so it did not resemble the logo. I suggest a big heart. I think Malibu needs more heart!
