Malibu resident David Munoz died June 13 after a long battle with heart and liver disease.
Munoz was born July 3, 1953 in San Pedro, Calif. to Fred Munoz and Ruth Upchurch. He graduated from East High School in Nashville, Tenn. before continuing his education at a nearby college.
Munoz worked as a screenwriter, though his other passions included motorcycle riding, traveling, being by the ocean and exploring the outdoors.
Munoz is survived by his siblings Debbie Grisfis, Tammy Wiley, Mike Upchurch and Monica Hernandez.
“He will be forever loved by his family and friends,” Grisfis said.
Two memorial services for Munoz will be held this Friday, July 29. The first will be on the beach of Tivoli Cove in front of the apartment at 2665 Eagle Drive. A second memorial, hosted with the help of Munoz’s best friend Dewey Perrigo, will be held at 2 p.m. at the Rock Store, 30354 Mulholland Hwy.
