Little brown baby don’t make a sound
We can’t teach you English because you are brown.
We can’t let you go to school. Sorry my dear,
that is a rule because
your parents were not born here
But when you grow up you can cut my grass
Tend my garden
Clean my house
But you must be quiet as a mouse.
Even when you ride the bus
So hush little baby you can’t make a sound
But my darling you can go to heaven
In spite of prop 187.
