19 Arrests Made at Malibu Checkpoint, One for DUI

A DUI and driver’s license checkpoint in Malibu on Friday resulted in 19 arrests, including one for suspected DUI and one for suspicion of possessing illegal narcotics, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The checkpoint was staged at Pacific Coast Highway and Carbon Canyon Road from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., where 11 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court, six drivers were arrested for driving with suspended or revoked licenses. A total of 1,667 cars passed through the checkpoint.
